Feast of Sant’Agata in Catania
From 3 to 5 February the Festival of S. Agata will be held in Catania: three days of worship, devotion, folklore and traditions, attended by over one million people every year.
Thousands of people follow the procession of the relics of the Saint, through the streets of the city, wearing the traditional “sacco” (a votive coat of white canvas tied at the waist with a cord). In the background the suggestive voices of the devotees shout the traditional litania and repeat the sentence “We are all devoted” like a mantra.
